Deadwood, SD Vacation

We took a 3 day trip over to Deadwood, SD with Grandma & Grandpa Kolar & Auntie Kelly. It was the 1st time any of us had seen Mt. Rushmore as well as the historic town of Deadwood. It was awesome! Jaspur & I would love to go back again soon. The Black Hills are absolutely beautiful and the town was SO cool. We had a great time seeing the sights and trying to win back our student loans gambling at night ;). Let's just say we still have a LOT of loans to pay back! Minus spending nearly the entire 1st day of vacation in the parking lot of Tire-Rama in Gillette, WY, the trip was a success. Thanks for a great time, family!

Easter at the Ranch: April 2012

We had a great Easter with the Kolar's again this year at the ranch. The babies have grown like weeds so this year Kyrie & Jaxon were able to color eggs together & had a blast! They were covered in so much dye by the time we finished they had to have a bath together. Ky even tried to give Jax a backrub but he didn't go for that lol! On Easter morning, the Easter bunny had spoiled all of the kids rotten and they had a blast opening their baskets together.

Springtime Updates: April & May 2012

Mama has been so bad at keeping up with this blog lately! We have been keeping busy busy busy. I can't believe how fast Kyrie is growing! We went to the doc to get her one year shots a few weeks ago, but she had a fever so they couldn't do them. Turns out the fever was a virus called Roseola that infants & toddlers commonly get, and she had a temp between 102-105 for 4 nights. Our poor little girl was miserable. Once the fever broke, she ended up getting the rash that goes along with it all over her body. Luckily, it doesn't itch or hurt, and now she will be immune to this virus. Ugh! She weighs 22 lbs now and is in the 70-75th percentile for her growth stats. She has been getting quite the little attitude, let me tell you! The little bugaboo LOVES to eat, and gets very angry when she runs out of food, or if someone in the same room tries to have a snack and won't share it. At daycare last week she was begging for some jalapeno chips, so finally her teacher caved to try and teach her a lesson since the chips would be hot, but, guess what!? She loved them and threw a tantrum trying to get more--backfire! Also, she MUST use her own fork & spoon to eat with, and will no longer eat much of anything that we try to give her ourselves. Actually, she does amazingly well using silverware! Although shes a piggy, she is very good at sharing. Her latest trick is to give Hurley her dog treats in the morning. She starts giggling & gets super excited to give them to her, but the problem is that she doesn't understand that she can't give the dog an entire bag of treats, and she gets angry and lays on the ground and has a tantrum when we take them away! I'm gonna have my hands full with this girly :). Ky has also developed quite the obsession with shoes. She loves to take her shoes off, and then she tries SO hard to get them back on, but just can't quite do it yet. Any of Mama's shoes laying around the house quickly end up with both of Ky's feet inside trying to walk in them LOL! 2 weeks ago, Ky transitioned from the "infant" room to the "toddler" room at daycare. It took 4 mornings of her screaming bloody murder and the teacher having to peel her away from me before she realzied that it wasn't such a bad place :(. Poor thing. So far this week she has been lovin' it. She even learned her "ABC's" and was singing them (well, her version!) on the car ride home yesterday!
